Dewi Hyde - Fine Art Landscape Photography
I am a fine art photographer and have lived near Esperance in the south-east of Western Australia, since 2005. I met Larry Youngson not long after moving to the region. Larry's artwork, philosophy and generous personality, led to our friendship and a successful joint exhbition at the Cannery Arts Centre in Esperance, in December 2006.

I use traditional photographic tools, materials and processes to produce works unique to the medium. The palette, texture and archival stability of handmade black and white silver gelatin prints, reflect the luminosity which enables and inspires their creation. Occasional colour work is exposed on transparency for similar reasons and printed commercially as required.

My work seems to recover the potent integrity of traditional photography, and use it to explore the natural world around us. My landscape photography follows a strong tradition of raising awareness of environmental values and promoting these above short term exploitation of natural resources. It should speak for itself.
